Το διεθνές ερευνητικό κέντρο CARDET, σε συνεργασία με την εταιρεία συμβούλων INNOVADE LI LTD, έχουν ξεκινήσει τον Ιανουάριο του 2013 τη διεκπεραίωση του έργου «Έρευνα για τις συμπεριφορές και αντιλήψεις των εκπαιδευτικών για θέματα ΥΤΧ και εισηγήσεις για τη βελτίωση της ένταξής τους στην τοπική κοινωνία» (Δράση C1, Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Ένταξης 2011). Το έργο ανατέθηκε από τον Κλάδο Ταμείων Αλληλεγγύης του Υπουργείου Εσωτερικών της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και συγχρηματοδοτείται από το Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Ένταξης (75%) και την Κυπριακή Δημοκρατία (25%). CARDET would like to invite you to a 2-day educational seminar organised within the framework of the project “GATE - Guardians for separated children Against Trafficking and any form of Exploitation: Standards and Training for the qualification of guardians for separated children against trafficking and exploitation”.
CARDET recently participated in the Comenius Thematic Meeting on Literacy, Maths & Science "Together for Basic Skills" on the 6th and 7th of December 2012, which took place in Brussels. Dr. Charalambos Vrasidas, the Executive Director of CARDET and Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia, presented projects that the Center participates in, and shared experiences with European leaders and researchers.
This event brought together coordinators of Comenius centralized multilateral projects and networks, Comenius decentralized projects, coordinators of other LLP actions (Leonardo, Grundtvig, Erasmus) and projects of DG Research. It provided a forum to share experience and knowledge with other relevant actors in Literacy, Maths, and Science. The specific objectives of the meeting were:
CARDET participated at the Expert Conference on Integration of Immigrants, after an invitation from the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which organized the conference. The conference took place in November 20, 2012 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The conference focused on ‘the role of local and regional authorities in shaping and implementing the national integration policies’.

Sotiris Themistokleous, Assistant Director of CARDET, and Member of the Coordination Committee of the Mediterranean Migration Network, participated at the second meeting of the Advisory Group of the project VREN - Voluntary Return European Network, where he delivered a presentation on “How to foster the sustainability of newly set up networks: Lessons learned from the Mediterranean Migration Network”.
The AG meeting of the VREN (8 November 2012, Brussels) was co-chaired by the International Organization of Migration and the UK Government. The meeting primarily focused on fine-tuning the tools VREN offers in order to increase its effectiveness and foster cooperation among its members. Secondly, it discussed ways to maximize the use of VREN for the design and implementation of regional activities among Member States, civil societies and agencies working in the field.
Ο ερευνητικός μη-κερδοσκοπικός οργανισμός CARDET, σε συνεργασία με την εταιρεία συμβούλων INNOVADE LI, ανέλαβε το έργο για την Παροχή Υπηρεσιών Συμβούλου για την συντρέχουσα και τελική αξιολόγηση του Έργου «Πρόγραμμα κατά της πρόωρης εγκατάλειψης του σχολείου, της σχολικής αποτυχίας και της παραβατικότητας σε Ζώνες Εκπαιδευτικής Προτεραιότητας», το οποίο τους ανατέθηκε από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού (ΥΠΠ) της Κύπρου. Βασικός σκοπός του έργου είναι να αξιολογήσει κατά πόσο εκπληρώνονται οι ακόλουθοι στόχοι των ΖΕΠ:
- Μείωση της πρόωρης εγκατάλειψης του σχολείου,
- Περιορισμός της σχολικής αποτυχίας,
- Μείωση του φαινομένου παραβατικότητας,
- Ενίσχυση της κοινωνικής συνοχής, με τον περιορισμό του κινδύνου κοινωνικής περιθωριοποίησης και αποκλεισμού.
On 15-17 October 2012, the European Network of Education Councils (EUNEC) organised a conference on the theme of migration and education, hosted by the colleagues from the Pedagogical Institute in the Cyprus MOEC (Ministry of Education and Culture). A combination of presentations and discussions with international experts, debate in workshops and a school visit to two school in the ZEP (Zone of Educational Priority) in Larnaca, will lead to common statements on the subject.

The European Migration Network (EMN) is organizing its Annual Conference 2012, which is taking place in Cyprus, from Monday, 29th October – Tuesday, 30th October 2012. The Conference will be under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The topic of this year’s Conference is “Immigration of International Students to the EU” and the goal is to bring together experts to exchange good practices, experiences and views (policy makers and practitioners, academics, NGOS etc) as well as to present the results of the main study for 2012 on the same topic.
In this context, the Organizing Committee of the Conference (Cyprus Ministry of Interior) invites the members of the MMN to attend the conference.
On October 10, 2012, the consortium of the Daphne project “Using New Media to prevent and combat against Media Violence” will organize training seminars and workshops about how to use the new media to prevent and combat media violence.
