CARDET with its partners from Italy, UK, Poland and Spain, launched the LLP funded INTO project at a meeting held in Arezzo, Italy on 5 & 6 of December, 2013.
In order to combat educational disadvantages for migrant children as part of an overall European goal, numerous actions have been taken to improve the position of migrant children in education. In secondary education the emphasis lies on diversification of the offered teaching methods and extra guidance of the pupils. Some schools in Europe have set up measures to increase the continuity of the educational support in terms of migrant pupil inclusion and orientation. Despite these measures, dropout rates are still high among migrant youth, and compared to their native peers a disproportionately large number attend the lowest levels of secondary school after completing primary school. The disappointing results of regular guidance are partly the reason for the development of more innovative forms of guidance.
CARDET with its partners from Italy, UK, Austria and Spain, launched the LLP funded MEET project at a meeting held in Arezzo, Italy on November 14-15, 2013.
In Europe, the access to social and health services began to be considered a primary indicator of the level of migrants’ integration. However, there is a persistent difficulty in the access and use of health services by citizens with a migrant background, especially regarding preventive medicine and health care. These shortfalls pose new challenges for professionals, management and quality assurance in health services. Lower levels of health literacy among migrants are relevant, especially as concerns the appropriate use of health care systems. This increased diversity of EU population calls for a more migrant-sensitive workforce. In this perspective, the project involve partners from different starting-points on health promotion and different immigration contexts to introduce the Community Health Educator Model (CHE) awarded in 2000 by the British Ministry of Health and adopted by many health districts in the UK.
On November 8, 2013, CARDET participated, as a project partner, at the transnational seminar of the project Improving and Monitoring Protection systems Against Child Trafficking and exploitation (IMPACT), which took place in Rome, Italy.

The partnership aims to identify strategies and elements in law, policy and practice that have the potential to help strengthening child protection and social welfare systems so as to prevent child trafficking and exploitation in a more effective manner.
